Mini Piling Fife

Dawson Foundation Engineering provides professional mini piling services in Fife, supporting residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout the region. Whether you are extending a property in St Andrews, developing a commercial unit in Kirkcaldy, or constructing a new build in Dunfermline, we deliver safe, efficient and cost-effective foundation solutions.

We regularly operate across coastal, urban, and semi-rural environments typical of Fife’s varied landscape.

What is Mini Piling?

Mini piling involves installing small-diameter piles using compact piling rigs. It is particularly suited to:

  • Restricted access properties
  • Low headroom or internal works
  • Projects near neighbouring structures
  • Sites where vibration control is important
  • Variable or made ground conditions

This makes mini piling an ideal solution for Fife’s mix of historic towns, coastal developments, and new housing estates.

    Pile Sizes

Mini piles are typically considered to be under 300mm in diameter, although we install piles ranging from 100mm to 600mm across Fife.

Larger piles may still be classed as mini piling when installed with compact rigs. In many cases, the classification depends more on site access and rig size than on diameter alone.

Our Mini Piling Capability in Fife

Our piling rigs weigh under 20 tonnes and are designed for flexibility and performance in confined or restricted environments. They are capable of installing pile diameters up to 600mm, allowing us to support both small domestic projects and larger commercial developments.

We regularly provide mini piling in Fife for:

    • Residential extensions and self-builds
    • Commercial and mixed-use developments
    • Underpinning and structural reinforcement
    • Retaining walls (contiguous or king post)
    • Internal works such as lift shafts and mezzanines
    • Sites with soft soils, granular ground, or made land
    • Projects near coastlines, rivers, or protected areas
